[DXF/DWG File Settings - Export] Dialog Box
On [DXF/DWG File Settings - Export] dialog box, you can modify the following settings.
Method for Converting Paper and Part Drawing
The following 2 modes can be selected.
[Convert Paper to Layout and Part Drawing to Model]
Exports by converting paper and part drawing in RootPro CAD to layout and model space, respectively, in AutoCAD.
[Convert Only Active Paper or Part Drawing to Model]
Exports only paper or part drawing active in RootPro CAD.
Tip: |
In AutoCAD, there are a "model" (also called as "model space") and "layout" (also called as "paper space") corresponding to "part drawing" and "paper" in RootPro CAD, respectively. (A large difference is that only one "model space" can be used in AutoCAD, while multiple "part drawings" can be used in RootPro CAD.) To open an exported DXF/DWG file in AutoCAD, select [Convert Paper to Layout and Part Drawing to Model]. When there are multiple part drawings in the drawing to be converted, all "part drawings" will be converted as a whole (in tiles) on "model space" in the DXF/DWG file. Also, "part drawing layout" located on "paper" will be converted to "viewport" in AutoCAD. To open an exported DXF/DWG file in a CAD software, other than AutoCAD, that can import only shapes in "model space," or other software, select [Convert Only Active Paper or Part Drawing to Model]. Then only shapes on the currently active "sheet of paper" or "part drawing" in RootPro CAD will be converted as shapes in "model space." When converting by activating "sheet of paper," shapes displayed in "part drawing layouts" located on the "sheet of paper" will be converted as 1 block (shape consisting of lines, circles, or texts). It is effective to match the appearance of shape in CAD software that can convert only "model space" or other software as in "paper." Converting to a block shape enables to locate shapes on "part drawing layouts" on "model space" like locating them on "sheet of paper" by setting the same scale and locate angle as those for "part drawing layouts" to the block shape. It is effective when you want to convert only necessary shapes on "part drawing" as those on "model space" in converting a "part drawing" by activating it. |
[Data Type]
Set a data type when exporting it as DXF/DWG file.
[Black -> White]
Turn it on to export shapes in RootPro CAD by turning black color to white.
[Explode Dimension]
Turn it on to explode dimension shapes in RootPro CAD files to lines, arcs and texts before export.
[Explode Drawing Component]
Turn it on to explode drawing components in RootPro CAD files to general shapes such as lines, arcs and texts before export. It is effective when you put a priority in matching the appearance such as colors and line types than converting shapes as blocks.
[Specify TrueType fonts for horizontal text]
Turn it on to convert fonts for horizontal texts to TrueType fonts before export. Turn it off to convert fonts to big fonts in AutoCAD (extfont when data type is 2004/LT2004 or before, or exfont2 for other cases).
[Adjust character height.]
Turn it on to export by adjusting the character height. You can select a setting from [Auto scale] and [Specify Ratio].
Set a file format of images located in RootPro CAD when exported.
[Flush horizontal text to left or right, or center it.]
Turn it on to align the texts to "left," "center," or "right."
Tip: |
There are 9 types of the locate base point for texts in RootPro CAD: "Left Bottom," "Center Bottom," "Right Bottom," "Left Center," "Center Center," "Right Center," "Left Top," "Center Top," and "Right Top." Texts can be also aligned in DXF/DWG files. When the above option is turned off, the texts will be aligned in the same setting as in RootPro CAD ("Left Bottom," "Center Bottom," "Right Bottom," "Left Center," "Center Center," "Right Center," "Left Top," "Center Top," and "Right Top"). When the above option is turned on, texts in RootPro CAD with the locate base point of "Left Bottom," "Left Center," and "Left Top" will be converted to "Align Left" in DXF/DWG, "Center Bottom," "Center Center," and "Center Top" to "Center," and "Right Bottom," "Right Center," and "Right Top" to "Align Right." When texts are vertically or horizontally flipped, the position will be automatically determined to match the appearance. * This option is for texts converted to TEXTs. Those converted MTEXTs are out of the scope. Texts of 1 line (horizontal) and within 256 characters are converted to TEXTs. |
