Modifying Selecting Method of Shapes
There are 4 types of methods to select shapes: selecting rectangles, selecting polygons, selecting shapes intersecting with lines, and selecting shapes intersecting polylines.
- Click [Options] on [Tools] menu.
[Options] dialog box will be displayed. - Click [Select Shape].
[Select Shape] page will be displayed. - Modify the selecting method.
- Click [OK].
The shape selecting method will be modified.
Selecting method of shapes
Select shape in rectangle range
Selects all shapes in a rectangle formed by specifying 2 points.
Select shape in polygon range
Selects all shapes in a polygon formed by specifying point arrays.
Select shape that intersects line
Selects all shapes in a shape intersecting a line formed by specifying 2 points.
Select shape that intersects polyline
Selects all shapes in a shape intersecting a polyline formed by specifying point arrays.

Recognition
Select Shape Completely Contained in Selection
Selects only shapes entirely included in the selected area.
Select Shape Partially Contained in Selection
Also selects shapes partially included in the selected area.
Rectangular selection from left to right is a complete selection, from right to left is a partial selection
Turn it on to switch the complete/partial selection depending on the specifying method of 2 points when specifying a rectangle to select shapes.
When specifying 2 points from left to right, only shapes completely contained in the selected area will be selected. When specifying 2 points from right to left, shapes partially contained in the selected area will also be selected.
Inside / Outside
Set whether to select shapes inside or outside the selected area.
Select Layer with [Show Only] or Shapes on Part Drawing.
When it is turned on, shapes on layers and part drawings set to the "Show Only" status will become selectable.
Select shapes in the group together
When it is turned on, clicking a grouped shape will select all grouped shapes.
When it is turned off, clicking a grouped shape will select individual shapes in the group.
Shift+click shape to select multiple shapes
When it is turned on, you can select multiple shapes or deselect shapes by holding down the Shift key and clicking the shapes.
When it is turned off, you can select multiple shapes by clicking the shapes without pressing a key. You can deselect a shape by holding down the Shift key and clicking on the shape.
Alt+click shape to select overlapped shapes
When it is turned on, clicking shapes while pressing Alt key will select overlapped shapes in order.

▪ | When [How to Select Shape] is set to [Select shape that intersects line] or [Select shape that intersects polyline], the settings for [Recognition] and [Inside / Outside] will become invalid. |
▪ | If you hold down the Alt key while specifying a rectangular or polygon range, you will select the partially contained shapes. |
