Creating Parallel Line
Select a shape located on the drawing to create a parallel line based on the shape.
Shapes that can be used as a base are lines, polylines, infinite lines, rays, circles and arcs.
The following 2 methods can be used to create a parallel line.
- Specifying the "pitch," "direction point," "start point" and "end point."
- Specifying the "through point," "start point" and "end point."
To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or ← / → key on the keyboard.
- Point [Line] on [Shape] menu, and click [Parallel Line].
Then you will be able to create a parallel line. - Click a shape to be used as a base for a parallel line.

When specifying the pitch between the base shape and a parallel line, as well as the direction point
- Input the pitch between a parallel line and the original shape in [Space] on Command Window.
Move the cursor on the drawing to display a rubber band (temporally displayed shape) for a parallel line to be created according to the cursor position. - Click a direction toward which a parallel line is to be created.
According to the specified pitch and direction point, a line parallel to the original shape will be displayed fully on the window. - Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Start Point] box and click the start point of the parallel line, or to [Shape] box and click a shape to be used as the start point.
When selecting a shape, the intersection with the shape will be specified as the start point of the parallel line. - Switch the parameter on Command Window to [End Point] box and click the end point of the parallel line, or to [Shape] box and click a shape to be used as the end point.
A parallel line connecting the start and end points will be created.
When selecting a shape, the intersection with the shape will be specified as the end point of the parallel line.
When specifying the through point between the base shape and a parallel line
- Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Through Point] box and click the position (through point) for rubber band (temporally displayed shape)
The through point for the parallel line will be specified, and the parallel line and original shape will be displayed fully on Drawing Window.
