Creating Circle Tangent to One Shape


Select a shape located on the drawing to create a circle tangent to the shape.
Selectable shapes are lines, polylines, infinite lines, rays, circles, arcs, ellipses, elliptical arcs and B-Splines.
The following 3 methods can be used to create a 1-tangent circle.

To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or / key on the keyboard.

  1. Point [Circle] on [Shape] menu, and click [1-Tangent Circle].
    Then you will be able to create a 1-tangent circle.
  2. Supplemental
    You can enter into the 1-tangent circle creating status by clicking on [Shape] toolbar.
  3. Click a shape used as a base.

When specifying the center point of a 1-tangent circle

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Center Point] box, and click the center point of a 1-tangent circle on the drawing.
    Move the cursor on the drawing to display a rubber band (temporally displayed shape) for a 1-tangent circle to be created according to the cursor position.
  2. Click the position (select point) where a rubber band for 1-tangent circle to be created is displayed.
    A 1-tangent circle will be created at the position where the rubber band is displayed.

When specifying two through points

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Through Point 1] box, and click the first through point of a 1-tangent circle on the drawing.
  2. Click the second through point of a 1-tangent circle on the drawing.
    Moving the cursor on the drawing displays a rubber band (temporally displayed shape) of a 1-tangent circle that can be created according to the cursor position.
  3. Click the position (select point) where a rubber band for 1 tangents circle to be created is displayed.
    A 1-tangent circle will be created at the position where the rubber band is displayed.

Specifying the through point and radius

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Through Point] box, and click the first through point of a 1-tangent circle on the drawing.
  2. Input the length of the radius of a 1-tangent circle in [Radius] box on Command Window.
    The radius of the 1-tangent circle will be specified.
    Moving the cursor on the drawing displays a rubber band (temporally displayed shape) of a 1-tangent circle that can be created according to the cursor position.
  3. Click the position (select point) where a rubber band for 1-tangent circle to be created is displayed.
    A 1-tangent circle will be created at the position where the rubber band is displayed.
Supplemental
You can specify the center, through and select points by inputting X and Y coordinates in [Center Point], [Through Point 1], [Through Point 2], [Through Point] and [Select Point] boxes on Command Window.
