Creating Parallel Dimension
Create a linear dimension parallel to the object.
The following 3 methods can be used to create a linear dimension in parallel.
- Creating a parallel dimension according to dimension settings.
- Creating a dimension value at any position.
- Creating a dimension value with a lead at any position.
To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or ← / → key on the keyboard.
- Point [Dimension] on [Shape] menu, and click [Parallel Dimension].
Then you will be able to create a parallel dimension.

You can enter into the parallel dimension creating status by clicking on [Shape] toolbar. |
- Specify the dimension.
When specifying the start and end points
Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Start Point] box, and click the start and end points of a horizontal dimension.
When specifying a shape
Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Shape] box, and click a shape for which a parallel dimension is to be created.
Selectable shapes are lines, polylines and circles.
When selecting 2 parallel lines
Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Shape 1] box, and click 2 parallel lines for which a parallel dimension is to be created.
Selectable shapes are parallel lines only.
- Specify an input method for dimension values in [Input Dimension Value] box on Command Window.
Auto
Dimension values will be automatically input.
Manual
Dimension values will be manually input. Input a dimension value in [Dimension Value Character] box.

When set to [Manual], you can create a parallel dimension without inputting a dimension value in [Dimension Value Character]. |
- Specify the locate position for a dimension value in [Dimension Value Place] box on Command Window.
Follow Dimension Settings
The dimension value is located according to the dimension setting.
Free
The dimension value can be located at any position.
Free with Lead
The dimension value can be located at any position, with a lead attached from the center of the dimension line to the dimension value.

When locating a dimension value at any position with a lead attached, the lead will not be displayed without a certain distance between the dimension value and dimension line. |
When locating a dimension value according to the dimension setting
- Click a position where a horizontal dimension is to be located on the drawing.
A horizontal dimension will be created at the clicked position.
When locating a dimension value at any position
- Click a position where a dimension line is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension line will be located at the clicked position.
- Click a position where a dimension value is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension value will be located at the clicked position, and a horizontal dimension will be created.
When locating a dimension value at any position with a lead attached
- Click a position where a dimension line is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension line will be located at the clicked position.
- Click a position where a dimension value is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension value will be located at the clicked position, and a horizontal dimension will be created, with a lead attached from the center of the dimension line to the dimension value.

You can also specify the distance from the start/end point to the dimension line by switching [Locate Point] box to [Distance from Base Point] box. In such a case, specify a point locating the dimension line in [Direction Point] box. |

You can specify the start point, end point, locate point, direction point and dimension value locate point by inputting X and Y coordinates in [Start Point], [End Point], [Locate Point], [Direction Point] and [Dimension Value Locate Point] boxes on Command Window. |
