[Dimension] Page on [Default Shape Settings] Dialog Box
On [Dimension] page on [Default Shape Settings] dialog box, you can modify the following settings.
The modified settings will be displayed on the preview screen located at the bottom left of the dialog box.
Dimension Line
View Dimension
[Start Side]
Turn it on to display a dimension line on the start side.
[End Side]
Turn it on to display a dimension line on the end side.
[Arrow Position]
Set whether a dimension arrow is located inside or outside the auxiliary dimension line.
[Always View Dimension Line]
Turn it on to display a dimension line between the arrows on the start and end side when [Arrow Position] is set to [Outside].

▪ | For a radius dimension, when [Always View Dimension Line] is turned on, a dimension line is displayed from the arrow to the center point of a circle or arc regardless of the setting in [Arrow Position]. |
Arrow Type
[Start Side]
Set the type of the dimension arrow on the start side.
[Start Side Pointed Arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) Settings]
If you select the pointed arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) in the dimension arrow type on the start side, click the [...] button next to it, and then click [Pointed Arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) Settings] Dialog Box is displayed, and you can set the direction and tip angle indicated by the arrow size for the arrow.
[End Side]
Set the type of the dimension arrow on the end side.
[End Side Pointed Arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) Settings]
If you select the pointed arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) in the dimension arrow type on the end side, click the [...] button next to it, and then click [Pointed Arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) Settings] Dialog Box is displayed, and you can set the direction and tip angle indicated by the arrow size for the arrow.
Arrow Size
[Start Side]
Input a size of the dimension arrow on the start side.
When [Same as Character Height] is turned on, the size is the same as the character height of the dimension value.
If the arrow type is 1, 6, 9, or 11, the arrow size will be the direction set in the [Pointed Arrows (1, 6, 9, 11) Settings] Dialog Box on the start side.Arrows 8 and 10 are diagonal in size. Other than that, it is the height when facing horizontally.
[End Side]
Input a size of the dimension arrow on the end side.
When [Same as Character Height] is turned on, the size is the same as the character height of the dimension value.

Length extended towards outside when the arrow is located outside
[Start Side]
Input a length of an arrow to be extended on the start side of a dimension line when [Arrow Position] is set to [Outside].
[End Side]
Input a length of an arrow to be extended on the end side of a dimension line when [Arrow Position] is set to [Outside].
[Extend According To Dimension Value Place]
Turn it on to automatically set the length of a dimension line to be extended when the dimension value is located at the outside of the start and end points of a dimension line.
Auxiliary Dimension Line
View Auxiliary Dimension Line
[Start Side]
Turn it on to display an auxiliary dimension line on the start side.
[End Side]
Turn it on to display an auxiliary dimension line on the end side.
Length Thrusting Out
[Start Side]
Input a length of protrusion of an auxiliary dimension line from a dimension line on the start side.
[End Side]
Input a length of protrusion of an auxiliary dimension line from a dimension line on the end side.
Auxiliary Line Length
[Method For Specifying Auxiliary Line Length]
Set a method to specify an auxiliary line length.
[Distance from Base Point]: | Specify the distance from the base point to a point to start drawing an auxiliary dimension line. |
[Auxiliary Line Length]: | Specify the length of an auxiliary dimension line from a dimension arrow position to the base point direction. |
[Start Side]
Input a length on the start side using the method specified in [Method For Specifying Auxiliary Line Length].
[End Side]
Input a length on the end side using the method specified in [Method For Specifying Auxiliary Line Length].
[Auxiliary Arc Dimension Line]
Set a locate angle for an auxiliary arc dimension line.
[Parallel]: | Locate an auxiliary line in parallel with the X or Y axis on the drawing. |
[Radial]: | Locate an auxiliary line in radial. |
[Auto]: | Automatically locates an auxiliary line according to the angle of an arc dimension. |
Style
[Dimension Style]
Click and select a registered style to reflect the settings for the style.
[Register...]
Click it to register the set details as a style.
[Settings]
Click it to display [Style Settings] dialog box where you can edit the style.
Import/Export
[Load default dimension settings from template]
Default dimension settings for the template are loaded to the current settings.
[Load default dimension settings from other drawings]
Default dimension settings on other drawings currently opened are loaded to the current settings.
[Save default dimension settings to template]
Current default dimension settings are saved as default dimension settings for the template.

▪ | Styles displayed in [Dimension Style] list with an asterisk (*) are registered to the drawing template. Select a template style to copy the style to the drawing. |
