Creating Angular Dimension

Create an angular dimension for an object.
The following 3 methods can be used to create an angular dimension.

To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or / key on the keyboard.

  1. Point [Dimension] on [Shape] menu, and click [Angular Dimension].
Then you will be able to create an angular dimension.
  2. Supplemental
You can enter into the angular dimension creating status by clicking on [Shape] toolbar.
  3. Specifying an object for which an angular dimension is to be created.
When creating angular dimensions for 2 shapes
Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Shape 1] box, and click 2 shapes for which an angular dimension is to be created.
Selectable shapes are lines, polylines, infinite lines and rays.
    Supplemental
When setting [Within 180 deg] in [Angle Range] box on Command Window, an angular dimension will be measured between 2 shapes (including shape extension lines) clicked in [Shape 1] and [Shape 2]. When setting [More than 180 deg is possible], the positions of points clicked in [Shape 1] and [Shape 2] will be used as the start and end points counterclockwise to calculate an angle.
When creating an angular dimension for an arc
Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Arc] box, and click an arc for which an angular dimension is to be created.
When cleating an angular dimension for a projection line connecting the specified center point and start point, and the center point and end point
Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Center Point] box, and click the center, start and end points for an angular dimension.
    Supplemental
When set to Clockwise in the [Direction] box of the Command Window, the dimension line arc is drawn clockwise from the start point side to the end point side, but the actual dimension shape is created by inverting the start point side and the end point side.
  4. Specify an input method for dimension values in [Input Dimension Value] box on Command Window.
    Auto
Dimension values will be automatically input.
    Manual
Dimension values will be manually input. Input a dimension value in [Dimension Value Character] box.
  5. Supplemental
When set to [Manual], you can create an angular dimension without inputting a dimension value in [Dimension Value Character].
  6. Specify the locate position for a dimension value in [Dimension Value Place] box on Command Window.
    Follow Dimension Settings
The dimension value is located according to the dimension setting.
    Free
The dimension value can be located at any position.
    Free with Lead
The dimension value can be located at any position, with a lead attached from the center of the dimension line to the dimension value.
  7. Supplemental
When locating a dimension value at any position with a lead attached, the lead will not be displayed without a certain distance between the dimension value and dimension line.

When locating a dimension value according to the dimension setting

  1. Click a position where an angular dimension is to be located on the drawing.
An angular dimension will be created at the clicked position.

When locating a dimension value at any position

  1. Click a position where a dimension line is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension line will be located at the clicked position.
  2. Click a position where a dimension value is to be located.
A dimension value will be located at the clicked position, and an angular dimension will be created.

When locating a dimension value at any position with a lead attached

  1. Click a position where a dimension line is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension line will be located at the clicked position.
  2. Click a position where a dimension value is to be located on the drawing.
A dimension value is located at the clicked position, and an angular dimension will be created, with a lead attached from the center of the dimension line to the dimension value.

Supplemental
You can also specify the distance from the start/end point to the dimension line by switching [Locate Point] box to [Distance from Base Point] box. In such a case, specify a point locating the dimension line in [Direction Point] box.
You can specify the center point, start point, end point, locate point, direction point and dimension value locate point by inputting X and Y coordinates in [Center Point], [Start Point], [End Point], [Locate Point], [Direction Point] and [Dimension Value Locate Point] boxes on Command Window.
