Creating Multiple Lines of Text


Create multiple lines of string on the drawing.
The following 4 methods can be used to create multiple lines of string.

To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or / key on the keyboard.

  1. Point [Text] on [Shape] menu, and click [Multiline Text].
  2. Supplemental
    You can display [Multiline Text] dialog box by clicking on [Shape] toolbar.
    Double clicking a text already created, enabling editing the text.
  3. [Text] dialog box is displayed when the setting is not to input the text directly from the screen.
    Enter the text in the [Text] dialog box and click [OK] to confirm the text to be created.

When entering the text angle, locate point

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Angle] box, and input an angle.
    The locate angle for a text to be created will be specified.
  2. Click a position where a text is to be located.
    The clicked position will be specified as the locate point, and a text will be created according to the set locate base point.
  3. When the text is input directly from the screen, the text editing window is displayed on the drawing window.
    Enter the text in the text edit window and click outside the text edit window to confirm the text to be created.

When specifying locate point, direction point for text

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Locate Point] box, and click a position where a text is to be entered.
    The clicked position will be the locate point for a text.
  2. Click a direction point where a text is to be entered.
    The angle from the coordinate values of the locate point will be specified as the locate angle, and a text will be created according to the set locate base point.
  3. When the text is input directly from the screen, the text editing window is displayed on the drawing window.
    Enter the text in the text edit window and click outside the text edit window to confirm the text to be created.

When specifying the text angle, area start point, area end point

  1. witch the parameter on Command Window to [Angle] box, and input an angle.
    The locate angle for a text to be created will be specified.
  2. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Area Start Point] box, and click the start position of the text range.
  3. Click the end position of the text range
    A text will be created in the position of the specified rectangular range.
  4. When the text is input directly from the screen, the text editing window is displayed on the drawing window.
    Enter the text in the text edit window and click outside the text edit window to confirm the text to be created.

When specifying the area start point, area end point, direction point for text

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Area Start Point] box, and click the start position of the text range.
  2. Click the end position of the text range
    A text is created in the position of the specified rectangular range.
  3. Click a direction point where a text is to be entered.
    The angle from the coordinate value of the range start point or the range end point is specified as the placement angle, and a text is created at the position of the specified rectangular range.
  4. When the text is input directly from the screen, the text editing window is displayed on the drawing window.
    Enter the text in the text edit window and click outside the text edit window to confirm the text to be created.
Supplemental
You can specify the locate point and direction point by inputting X and Y coordinates in [Locate Point], [Direction Point], [Area Start Point], and [Area End Point] boxes on Command Window.
On the [Input] page of the [Options] dialog box, you can change whether the text is entered directly in the drawing window or in the [Text] dialog box.
You can insert a previously entered string from the History menu in the Text dialog box or from the History menu in the text edit window's right-click menu.
If you want to delete the history, click [Delete Parameter History] on the [Input] page of the [Options] dialog box.

You can change the window behavior with the shortcut menu that appears when you right-click in the text editing window.

Ctrl + Enter to break line
If it is on, press Ctrl + Enter to start a new line and press Enter to finish editing.
If off, press Enter to start a new line and Ctrl + Enter to end editing.

Cancel with ESC key
If this is on, press ESC to discard your edits and finish editing.
If it is off, press the ESC key to reflect the edited contents and finish editing.

Rotate text box
If it is on, the text edit window will rotate if the text is rotated.
